Addition – Ayr

The original house is a 1/2 storey kit home from Simpson Sears constructed in the 1930’s. It sits at the top of al hill on a beautiful, large site with mature trees and a small barn. The owners had lovingly restored the home and converted the barn into a workshop. The brief was to convert the house to a bed a breakfast, with separate living quarters for the owners. We expanded the kitchen, added bedrooms and a separate suite for the owners, significantly increasing the size of the home. The resulting design used the scale and language of the historic home to create a warm and welcoming B&B where the owners live and work in harmony with their guests.
